Marriage:
In the Episcopal Church we understand marriage as a sacramental rite, witnessing in the man’s and the woman’s love for each other the outward and visible sign of God’s love in their lives. In real terms this lofty sentiment is experienced in the hard work they do day to day to make their marriage successful. In short, marriage is a holy calling with rights and responsibilities just like any other calling in the church.
Here at St. Michael’s Church, it is our understanding that this sacrament is celebrated by people who are members of this parish community. This understanding and its practice require real commitment to our mission, and at a minimum require a commitment to the baptismal promises of the persons who take on this vocation. Those who wish to inquire further about this understanding and its implications may contact the Rector, David J. Lucey @ rector@fullchannel.net or at the parish office @ (401)253-7717.
